Ede

Most visitors come to Ede because of the forests and heathlands of the Veluwe. This is for a reason; it's only a 5 minute walk from the center of town to the forests.

6 km south of Ede is a small city Wageningen, which has an important place in the history of the Netherlands: in 1945 the official surrender of Germany was signed here, which ended WWII. The charming little town still celebrates Bevrijdingsdag Freedom day on 5 may each year, with a military veterans parade, markets and concerts.
